The program start date is January 1, 2024. Work performed before this date will is not eligible for the rebate.
This application form is for owners of on-demand regeneration water softeners.
To be eligible for a rebate, the on-demand regeneration water softener must be installed and working at a residence located in the Village of Sussex.
Upon verifying the application information and applicant’s eligibility, a rebate will be sent to the applicant, within six (6) weeks.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The unit for which I am applying is an on-demand regeneration water softener, the kind to which rock salt (sodium chloride) or potassium chloride is added. I understand that portable exchange tank units, which are units where the softening tank is exchanged periodically by a service provider for a new softening tank, are not eligible for a rebate. Non-salt water conditioning equipment is also not eligible for a rebate.
- The rebate is based on the reasonable value of a service call to a licensed plumber or authorized water softener installer, for the optimization of an on-demand regeneration water softener, or for the purchase and installation of a new, on-demand regeneration water softener, and the cost of disconnecting, removal, and disposal of the current timer-based regeneration water softener. The rebate is $75 for optimizing the operation of an on-demand regeneration water softener that has been installed a minimum of one year, which is available once per year during the life of the rebate program, and $200 for the replacement of a timer-based regeneration water softener with an on-demand regeneration water softener, with a minimum salt efficiency rating of 2,500 grains per pound of salt. Replacement of an existing on-demand regeneration water softener, or a non-working or disconnected water softener unit are not eligible for the rebate.
- Rebate checks will be issued to the applicant identified in Section 1of the Application form.
- The on-demand regeneration water softener for which I am applying for a rebate is installed at a residence (house, multiplex, townhome) located with the Village of Sussex. Properties served by the Sussex Regional Wastewater Facility, that are not located in the Village of Sussex are not eligible for the rebate.
- I understand that this program is limited to one rebate per site address (location where the new on-demand water softener is installed).
- I have not previously applied for a rebate for this on-demand regeneration water softener.
- I understand that the on-demand regeneration water softener for which I am applying for the rebate must be connected by a licensed plumbing contractor.
- I understand that the proper disposal of the timer regeneration water softener and any unused salt is solely my responsibility.
- I understand that the rebate will not be paid if the application form is missing either the optimization service receipt, or the purchase/installation receipt of the new on-demand water softener.
- I understand that the program may be modified or terminated without prior notice.
- As a condition of accepting this rebate, I will allow, if requested, a representative of the Village of Sussex Sewer Utility reasonable access to my home to verify that the water softener for which I am applying for a rebate is installed and in working condition.
- I understand that a rebate will not be paid if I refuse to allow access to the Village of Sussex Sewer Utility representative to verify that the timer-regeneration softener has been removed from service. The verification must be scheduled within 30 days after the applicant has been contacted by the Village of Sussex.
- I understand that the Village of Sussex may contact providers and/or third parties to verify purchase information I have provided on the removal/installation of the units, as well as my name and/or address.
- I certify that I own the timer-based regeneration water softener to be removed.
- I am responsible for meeting all rebate program requirements, terms, and conditions and complying with my state/county/village governments, property owner, and/or homeowner association requirements (if any) in my area regarding local conditions, restrictions, codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations concerning actions taken under this rebate program.
- I understand that the Village of Sussex is not responsible for items lost or destroyed in mail/transit.
- Removal of timer-based regeneration softener must occur at the time of the new on demand softener installation.
The Village of Sussex is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage caused by, or related to any activities of plumbers, contractors or other third parties, which may arise during the course of removal/installation of my water softener, or any other activity related to this agreement.
I hereby release the Village of Sussex, their officers, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, demands, liability or loss arising out of activities conducted by or on behalf of the Village of Sussex in connection with the On-Demand Water Softener Rebate Program.
